The Church of Sweden in Lund is a parish with 7 congregations, 1 cathedral, 15 churches including a cooperative church with EFS, 3 chapels, and 2 preschools, funeral services, and an office.

Additionally, we have a Hospital Chaplaincy, Family Counseling, and a Diaconal Center. There are over 200 employees and a number of volunteers, including more than 130 elected representatives. The Church Council has overall responsibility, and all activities are led by the Dean. Each congregation has a parish council and a parish priest. The Church of Sweden in Lund is looking for a Church Musician 100% based in Lund's Eastern City Parish

The Church of Sweden in Lund is a vibrant and multifaceted parish where Present – Praying – Reconciliation are guiding principles in meeting people and society. Here, both tradition and development coexist, with seven congregations, a cathedral, and a rich worship and community life. There are more than 200 employees and a number of volunteers, including over 130 elected representatives.

Lund's Eastern City Parish

We are an exciting mix of urban and rural church in northeastern and eastern Lund. With four churches from the 1200s to the 1990s and rapidly growing areas such as Brunnshög and Råbylund, we are Lund's most populous parish, with a wide range of people, expressions, and needs. We have about 25 permanent staff members and many volunteers. Worship is our hub through which everything finds its foundation, and music is a vital tool. In the coming years, we will focus particularly on our focal points, which are Children & Family, Confirmation, and Adult Work.

About you

We are looking for you who are a church musician at B or C level, and who has experience in church music work in a congregation. We value that you are outgoing, curious, and driven, and that you want to build trusting relationships with congregation members and visitors of all ages. We place great importance on your pedagogical ability and that you relate to others in a sensitive and flexible manner. You should have good choral experience and experience working with children and families or confirmation students.

About the position

In Lund's Eastern City Parish, music is an obvious and essential part of everything we do. Here, there is both breadth and openness – low thresholds and high ceilings – where different musical expressions can take place. As a church musician with us, you will be part of the entire team and have a special relationship with the two other church musicians in the congregation. You will have choirs with a particular focus on children and youth, worship services, church ceremonies, confirmation students, etc., in all our churches and also in the parish's chapels. You will have a particular focus on children and families, which are two of the congregation's focal points. There is an opportunity to partially shape the position according to your skills, for example through choir focus, concert planning, or targeting a specific age group. Together with all of us, and not least with your musician colleagues, you will work to ensure that music is an obvious and included part of all our work.
